Hi, I'm Sammy. I like to make people laugh. My obsessions include: Harry Potter, Lady Gaga, The Hunger Games, How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, dictionaries, teeth, shitty reality television, my ukulele, Twitter, reading, and Sunny D. Katniss Everdeen is my hero. I blog about my life a fair amount. I'm trying to figure out where I belong.

Watching a documentary called Wretches and Jabberers about autism.

These two men, Tracy and Larry, are severely autistic adults who are on a world tour of sorts and they want to spread awareness about autism and teach people that although they have autism, that doesn’t mean they are unintelligent. When they talk about themselves, they say they don’t feel that they have a purpose in life and that they are lonely and it breaks my heart. I think they’re so brave for going around the world to areas unfamiliar to them to spread information about what it means to be autistic and this documentary is so enlightening. It makes me wonder even more how my brother feels. He’s not quite as autistic as the men in this documentary, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t feel the same way Tracy and Larry does. I hope he doesn’t. My brother is so loved by everyone who has come into contact with him, but I don’t know if he understands how unique and intelligent and funny and truly amazing he is. It’s a sad and sobering thought.
